Body Acne

Body acne is becoming more and more common these days, probably because of poor diets in the Western world. While eating fast foods doesn’t cause acne, it’s difficult for your body to heal itself as it should when you’re not getting proper nutrition.

But it’s not always as easy to clear it up as just changing your diet. Sometimes you’ll need to try using a different type of body wash. Always make sure to shower at least once a day when you’re trying to heal body acne, and always shower immediately after sports or other sweaty activities. The main cause of acne is clogged pores, either from dirt and sweat or just dead skin cells. Your body sheds these cells naturally in order to grow new skin, but sometimes has trouble if they get stuck in the pores, causing body acne.

There are many conditions that can cause rashes that just look like body acne, so if you’re not sure, ask your doctor just to be sure. It might just be something really simple like an allergy to a particular laundry detergent that you can easily change. It’s always best to be sure what you’re dealing with before you try to treat it.

You can also use almost any kind of acne care cream or lotion on most other parts of your body. If you’ve had luck using a particular product in the past for facial acne, give it a try on your body acne, being cautious of course if your acne is in an area near any sensitive body parts.

Sometimes body acne can be even harder to get rid of than face acne, because depending on the location your clothing may be rubbing against it all the time and keeping the skin from getting enough fresh air. Try wearing looser clothing, if you can.

If your body acne is severe or recurring, or seems to be appearing in sensitive areas, see your doctor. A dermatologist will be able to prescribe a stronger cream or possibly an oral medication that will clear up your body acne, and can also check to ensure you aren’t really suffering from a food sensitivity or other illness.

Many people suffer from body acne, almost as many as have acne of the face. If you are one of them, you should not feel embarrassed, but know that you are not alone. Remember, there are many possible solutions for the problem of body acne.
