Natural Acne Treatment
Acne is a terribly embarrassing condition. Everyone can see it, and sometimes you feel like that’s all they see. You’ve probably tried all sorts of acne creams and maybe even medications. These can get very expensive and don’t always work at all. Plus, many people are concerned about the effect of all those chemicals and medicines. Before you consult an expensive dermatologist who will probably recommend more expensive medications or treatment plans, why not try a natural acne treatment?
What is Natural Acne Treatment?
What do we mean by natural acne treatment? There are many methods of acne care that are much more natural than the commonly seen creams and pills, and most of them are not only safer and more affordable, but actually work in the long run. There is probably no instant cure, but what you really want is something to take care of the problem permanently. A natural acne treatment can do this.
First of all, we want to look at the cause of the acne problem, and try to prevent it. What causes acne? Oil and dirt clogging up the skin pores is the main culprit. Sometimes the clogged pores also become infected. Clearly the way to cure acne is to stop the pores from being obstructed in the first place. The first step in doing this is to make sure to wash your face twice a day, morning and night. It is natural for the skin to shed dead skin cells as part of the renewal process. Your skin is replacing itself all the time! But sometimes it needs a little help getting the old cells moved out of the way. Gently washing with warm water will go along way toward helping with this. Speaking of water, any natural acne treatment should also include drinking at least eight cups of water a day. Once again, this helps your skin to do its natural functions.
Secondly, look at your diet. While your mother was not entirely correctly when she told you that eating fast food would give you acne, it certainly doesn’t help. Your body’s systems are all part of one whole being, and what affects on part affects another. Your skin is often the first part to complain when you’re not getting proper nutrition. Eat a balanced diet most of the time, and your skin will show its gratitude. The occasional fried food will not hurt you.
Finally, there are many natural herbs that make wonderful facial treatments. Chamomile, aloe vera, and sage can all be very beneficial to those with acne. Try a variety of things to find the natural acne treatment that’s right for you.
